Competition Background
"Science and technology are not for science and technology itself, but for the better benefit of mankind." The field of robotics began to develop in the 1950s, and from the initial industrial production, with the coordinated development of sensors and computer hardware and software in the industry, it gradually turned to the intelligent field. Whether in China or in other countries of the world, robots have always been a hot topic of science and technology. Robot research is becoming a new strategic commanding point in the global high-tech competition. The development of robots requires not only forward-looking or fantastic ideas from academia, but also cooperation from industry to make these ideas into products, so that robots can really play a role. The robots you see are moving towards intellectualization. Can robots have powerful and intelligent brains like humans? Can robots perform tasks instead of humans? When will the world of robots in science fiction come? In the future, everyone in the world may have robots. Robots are as common as cars running on the road. In the classic science fiction film Iron Armored Steel Boxing, the story tells us that people who used to fight have been replaced by robots, and people manipulate them to fight on the field. It can be said that the pan-robotic world is getting closer and closer to us. It seems that the plots in science fiction movies are gradually becoming reality.

Opportunity has come! After three years of preparation and many visits to the United States, Korea and the United Kingdom, the 2009 International Competition of Autonomous Walking Intelligent Robots (RUNNING ROBOT) guided by the world-renowned expert team will be born in Beijing, China, which will be a platform for you to show your talents and exchange technology.
Whether you like robots or are engaged in robotics research, you should go to RUNNING-ROBOT. This is not a rigid robot performance, science popularization activities, but a comprehensive platform for robots, which integrates interesting competitions, expert exchanges, enterprise docking, skill upgrading and extreme challenges. The event was first sponsored by Tsinghua University, Korean Academy of Science and Technology, Beijing Association of Science and Technology, China Electronics Society, Beijing Electronics Society, China Educational Television Station-3 and Beijing Society of Science and Technology Journals, and will be established in Beijing in August 2019. The competition hopes to build an international communication and industry-university-research integration development ecology in the field of robotics, involving more scientists, more enterprises and more technicians. Get the guidance of the world's top scientists! The Organizing Committee decided to hold the first International Autonomous Robot Competition in August 2019.
In order to improve the level of actual combat and enhance the team's quick understanding of the process and rules of the competition, and to better guide and organize the participating units to participate in the competition, the relevant process and matters will be explained as follows:
Why RUNNING-ROBOT ?
l It is an excellent entrance to AI learning and practice. Combining with the knowledge of artificial intelligence, image processing, signal analysis, decision-making and judgment, mastering the advanced technology, designing and constructing the robot's "brain" so that it can make decision judgment and control the robot's "limb" action according to the visual information transmitted by the "eyes" (camera) through artificial intelligence algorithm.

Hoi-Jun Yoo, a world-renowned expert in artificial intelligence, a lifelong IEEE academician and a professor at the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAIST). Competition Objective
1. Promoting the Research, Development and Application of Autonomous Intelligent Robots
2. Promote the research and development of robots, automatic control, artificial intelligence, software and SOC chip design on the platform of autonomous and intelligent robots.
