  2019 International Competition of Autonomous Running Intelligent Robots Opening Ceremony

  From August 17 to 18, the first " International Competition of Autonomous Running Intelligent Robots " sponsored by Beijing Association for science and technology and co-sponsored by Beijing Institute of electronics, Tsinghua University Institute of microelectronics, Beijing Science and technology community service center was successfully held in Beijing Science Center. With the theme of " Autonomous intelligence, create the future together", the competition attracted 33 teams from Germany, Britain, South Korea, Cote d'Ivoire, Pakistan and domestic famous universities, and representatives of relevant institutions from more than 20 countries and regions to attend the competition and exchange. Ma Lin, Secretary of the Party group of Beijing Association for science and technology, delivered the opening speech, and Sima Hong, executive vice chairman of Beijing Association for science and technology, delivered the closing speech and presented awards. Tian Wen, member of the Party group and vice chairman of Beijing Association for science and technology, presided over the opening and closing ceremony.

  Ma Lin pointed out that the International Competition of Autonomous Running Intelligent Robots is a specific measure to promote the scientific and technological community to deepen the academic practice of managers, promote academic innovation through the competition, strengthen the research, exchange and exchange of cutting-edge technology, and fill the gaps in the international competition in this field. The competition aims to promote the integrated development and common innovation of relevant chip technology, intelligent algorithm, automatic control, robot manufacturing and other specialties; effectively discover and cultivate high-end innovative talents of artificial intelligence, and serve the construction of Beijing National Science and technology innovation center.

  Wang Zhihua, executive chairman of the competition, vice president of Beijing Institute of electronics and professor of Institute of microelectronics of Tsinghua University, delivered a speech, and announced the official launch of preparations for the 2020 competition.

  After the opening ceremony, Huang Wei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Association for science and technology, executive vice president of Northwest Polytechnic University, chairman of the Federation of Engineering Institution Asia Pacific (FEIAP), Hoi-Jun Yoo, Professor of the Korean Academy of science and technology, and Zhang Jianwei, academician of the German Academy of Sciences and director of the Institute of multimodal intelligent robot system of Hamburg University, respectively, expressed "flexible electronics +" and future industry "Turing test and module construction of robot intelligence" and "AI robots and AI SOCS" were keynote speeches.

  This competition can be called the "brain king" war in the field of robotics. The core of the competition is to see who can "domesticate" a smarter robot, analyze and judge according to the actual situation of the track, and independently cross the obstacles. There are three forms of competition: standard competition, free competition and performance competition.

  During the competition, the contestants showed excellent programming ability. Finally, one special prize, two first prizes, five second prizes, nine third prizes and seven excellent prizes were selected. Tsinghua Micro-electronics robot team, a joint team of Tsinghua University and Lincoln University in the UK, won the special prize with the absolute advantage of zero mistakes in the whole process.

  Sima Hong presented awards to them, and proposed that all participating teams seize the opportunity of rapid development of artificial intelligence, develop innovation and create new achievements. She also said that she is willing to work with all parties to make the International Competition of Autonomous Running Intelligent Robots a top international event that will never end.
