The Explanation Conference of the 2019 International Competition of Autonomous Walking Intelligent Robots was successfully held on the morning of June 12, it was successfully held in the main campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Teachers and students from School of Optoelectronics and Information, School of Electrical and School of Mechanical participated in the conference.

At the beginning of the conference, the staff of the organizing committee invited the participating teachers and students to watch the video collection of the previous competition together. Then the staff of the organizing committee introduced the competition's background, process, category, unique advantages and other aspects in detail to the participating teachers and students, so that they could have a deeper understanding of the competition. Then, Professor Zhang Chun, the technical director of the competition, associate researcher of the Tsinghua University microelectronics institution, gave a detailed explanation on the events, rules, online training, team selection, robot rental and other related matters of the competition. At the same time, the development board, control board, steering gear and other related technical parameters provided by the organizing committee were explained in detail. Finally, Professor Zhang Chun and the participating teachers and students jointly watched the highlights of last year's competition.

After the explanation, Professor. Zhang Chun gave a simple demonstration to the teachers and students with the standard competition robot provided by the organizing committee, and watched a series of videos such as walking route planning, target recognition and color ball capture with the demonstration robot.

In the follow-up question-and-answer session, Professor. Liu Lunhong, the Science and Technology Innovation Base of the Department of Machinery, analyzed the current situation of the Robot Competition at home and abroad from four aspects: school, teacher, student and the organizer of the Competition. At the same time, he also put forward some constructive suggestions for the current Competition. After the conference, Professor. Liu said that he would actively mobilize and organize the Huazhong University of Science and Technology Team to participate in the competition. He also wished the contest a complete success and become an international event with international influence and appeal.
