The Explanation Conference of the 2019 International Competition of Autonomous Walking Intelligent Robots was successfully hold on the afternoon of May 22 at Qingshuihe Campus of University of Electronic Science and Technology. Teachers and students from University of Electronic Science and Technology and Sichuan University participated in the conference.

At the beginning of the conference, Professor Zhang Chun, deputy researcher of the Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University, who is the technical director of the competition, gave a detailed explanation on the events, rules, online training, team selection, robot rental and other related matters of the competition. Then, on behalf of the Beijing Association of Science and Technology, Wu Qing, Beijing Electronics Society, introduced the background, purpose and significance of the competition. The competition, advantages and characteristics of the competition were supplemented. Finally, Wu Qing gave a brief description of the current competition registration states.

After the explanation, Prof. Zhang Chun also gave a robot demonstration to the participating teachers and students. The successful completion of bowing, stretching, rolling performed by the participating robots pushed the atmosphere of the conference to a climax. In the subsequent question-and-answer session, the teams of Sichuan University and University of Electronic Science and Technology raised questions about the rules of the competition, online training, robot rental and other related issues respectively. The Organizing Committee of the competition also answered these questions in detail, and sorted out the links that need to be improved in the later competition.

After the conference, the participants indicated that they would actively participate in the preparations for the competition and strive to achieve a good result in the competition.
